Greenhouse gases have a direct effect on the Earth's atmosphere, because these gases act as a blanket for the Earth. If these gases are not present and they do not absorb heat, then the earth will be clouded into a cold planet and human life will not be able to live in its present form. Therefore, greenhouse gases have always been present in the atmosphere and have always maintained a certain temperature of the earth through the greenhouse effect. Naturally occurring greenhouse gases do not change the temperature of the earth all of a sudden. / ग्रीनहाउस गैसों का पृथ्वी के वायुमण्डल पर प्रत्यक्ष प्रभाव पड़ता है, क्योंकि ये गैसें पृथ्वी के लिए कंबल का कार्य करती हैं| यदि ये गैसें उपस्थित न हों और ये ताप का अवशोषण न करें तो पृथ्वी एक ठंडे ग्रह में बादल जाएगी और मानव जीवन अपने वर्तमान स्वरूप में नहीं रह पाएगा | अतः ग्रीनहाउस गैसें हमेशा से वायुमंडल में उपस्थित रही हैं और हमेशा से ग्रीनहाउस प्रभाव द्वारा पृथ्वी के एक निश्चित तापमान को बनाए रखा है | प्राकृतिक रूप से पायी जाने वाली ग्रीनहाउस गैसें पृथ्वी के तापमान को एकाएक नहीं बदलती हैं|
