Sunderlal Bahuguna (9 January 1927 - 21 May 2021) was a great environmental thinker of India and a prominent leader of the Chipko movement. He fought for the protection of forests in the mountainous regions of the Himalayas. His wife was also associated with his movement. He was first associated with the Chipko movement in the 1970s and the movement against the construction of the Tehri Dam from the 1980s to 2004. He is one of India's earliest environmentalists. / सुन्दरलाल बहुगुणा (9 जनवरी सन 1927 - 21 मई 2021) भारत के एक महान पर्यावरण-चिन्तक एवं चिपको आन्दोलन के प्रमुख नेता थे। उन्होने हिमालय के पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों में वनों के संरक्षण के लिए संघर्ष किया। उनकी पत्नी भी उनके अन्दोलन से जुड़ी हुईं थीं। १९७० के दशक में पहले वे चिपको आन्दोलन से जुड़े रहे और १९८० के दशक से २००४ तक के दशक में टिहरी बाँध के निर्माण के विरुद्ध आन्दोलन से। वे भारत के आरम्भिक पर्यावरण प्रेमियों में से एक हैं।
