Explanation / व्याख्या :-

The Indian constitution does not expressly recognise the right to privacy. But after the case of Kharak Singh vs. State of U.P (1963), the Supreme Court for the first time recognised the right as being implicit in the Constitution under Article 21 (Right to Life and Personal Liberty). The apex court later reinforced Right to privacy as being part of Article 21 in the following cases: Govind vs State of Madhya Pradesh (1975); R. Rajagopal vs. State of Tamil Nadu (1994); PUCL v. Union of India (1997). / भारतीय संविधान निजता के अधिकार को स्पष्ट रूप से मान्यता नहीं देता है। लेकिन खड़क सिंह बनाम यूपी राज्य (1963) के मामले के बाद, सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने पहली बार संविधान में निहित अधिकार को अनुच्छेद 21 (जीवन का अधिकार और व्यक्तिगत स्वतंत्रता) के तहत मान्यता दी। शीर्ष अदालत ने बाद में निम्नलिखित मामलों में अनुच्छेद 21 के हिस्से के रूप में निजता के अधिकार को मजबूत किया: गोविंद बनाम मध्य प्रदेश राज्य (1975); आर. राजगोपाल बनाम तमिलनाडु राज्य (1994); पीयूसीएल बनाम भारत संघ (1997)।
