The Fundamental Duties of citizens were added to the Constitution by the 42nd Amendment in 1976, upon the recommendations of the Swaran Singh Committee. Originally ten in number, the Fundamental Duties were increased to eleven by the 86th Amendment in 2002. / नागरिकों के मौलिक कर्तव्यों को 42वें संशोधन द्वारा 1976 में स्वर्ण सिंह समिति की सिफारिशों पर संविधान में जोड़ा गया था। मूल रूप से संख्या में दस, 2002 में 86 वें संशोधन द्वारा मौलिक कर्तव्यों को बढ़ाकर ग्यारह कर दिया गया था।
