Under Plant Taxonomy, the plants found on the earth are identified and classified on the basis of their mutual similarities and dissimilarities. So far, about 4.0 lakh species of different types of plants are known in the world, out of which about 70% species are of flowering plants.

पादप वर्गिकी (Plant Taxonomy) के अन्तर्गत पृथ्वी पर मिलने वाले पौधों की पहचान तथा पारस्परिक समानताओं व असमानताओं के आधार पर उनका वर्गीकरण किया जाता है। विश्व में अब तक विभिन्न प्रकार के पौधों की लगभग 4.0 लाख जातियाँ ज्ञात है जिनमें से लगभग 70% जातियाँ पुष्पीय पौधों की है।
