Maharani Kaurwaki was Empress consort of the Maurya Empire as the first wife of Emperor Ashoka. Legends says that Kaurwaki was the daughter of a fisher man. It is said that she led an army of females against Ashoka in Kalinga after Kalinga had no males left to defend it. / महारानी कौरवकी सम्राट अशोक की पहली पत्नी के रूप में मौर्य साम्राज्य की महारानी थीं। किंवदंतियों का कहना है कि कौरवकी एक मछुआरे की बेटी थी। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि कलिंग में अशोक के खिलाफ महिलाओं की एक सेना का नेतृत्व करने के बाद कलिंग की रक्षा के लिए कोई पुरुष नहीं बचा था।
