SAIL, a Public Sector Undertaking is the largest steel producer in India with a production of about 15 MT of hot metal and 14 MT of crude steel.
With an annual turnover of Rs 49,180 crore in the financial year 2016-17, the company is among the seven Maharatnis of the country's Central Public Sector Enterprises.
It has five integrated steel plants at Bhilai, Durgapur, Rourkela, Bokaro and Burnpur; Three special steel plants at Salem, Durgapur and Bhadravati.
It has separate units engaged in research and development, engineering and technology, consultancy, environmental management, coal supply, logistics and management training. / भारतीय इस्पात प्राधिकरण लिमिटेड - एक महारत्न
SAIL, एक सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र का उपक्रम भारत का सबसे बड़ा इस्पात उत्पादक है जिसमें लगभग 15 मीट्रिक टन गर्म धातु का उत्पादन और 14 MT का कच्चा इस्पात है।
वित्त वर्ष 2016-17 में 49,180 करोड़ रुपये के सालाना कारोबार के साथ, कंपनी देश के सेंट्रल पब्लिक सेक्टर एंटरप्राइजेज के सात महारत्नियों में शामिल है।
भिलाई, दुर्गापुर, राउरकेला, बोकारो और बर्नपुर में इसके पांच एकीकृत इस्पात संयंत्र हैं; सलेम, दुर्गापुर और भद्रावती में तीन विशेष इस्पात संयंत्र।
इसमें अनुसंधान और विकास, इंजीनियरिंग और प्रौद्योगिकी, परामर्श, पर्यावरण प्रबंधन, कोयला आपूर्ति, रसद और प्रबंधन प्रशिक्षण में लगी हुई अलग-अलग इकाइयाँ हैं।
