The full form of OBC is Other Backward Classes. The full form of OBC in Hindi is Other Backward Classes. It is commonly known by the short name OBC. i.e. Other Backward Classes. In this class, castes have been kept in the same way as the general class, only their basis is to be backward in the level of education and poverty. It is a part of the general category itself, but to protect the castes with their desired facilities and some percentage reservation, they have been kept in this category by the government. For example, OBC category is entitled to take 27% reservation in public sector and education sector. / OBC का Full Form Other Backward Classes होता है| हिंदी में OBC का फुल फॉर्म अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग होता है। इसे आमतौर पर शॉर्ट नाम OBC से ही जाना जाता है। अर्थात् अन्य पिछडा़ वर्ग। इस वर्ग में सामान्य वर्ग की तरह ही जातियां रखी गयी है बस उनका आधार शिक्षा और गरीबी के स्तर पर पिछडा़ होना होता है। यह सामान्य वर्ग का ही एक भाग है मगर जातियों को उनकी वांछिक सुविधाओं और कुछ प्रतिशत आरक्षण का संरक्षण देने को सरकार द्वारा उन्हें इस वर्ग में रखा गया है। उदाहरण के रूप में ओबीसी वर्ग सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र और शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में 27% आरक्षण लेने का हक रखती है|
