Kalinjar Fort is located in the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. It is counted as the largest unbeatable fortress built in India. This fort is located in the Vindhya Mountains of Bundelkhand region. It served several dynasties including the Guptas, the Vardhana Dynasty, the Chandelas, Mughals and the Marathas. Although many rulers fought fierce battle to win this fort, the Chandelas managed to control it for a long time. It was mainly built by Chandela ruler Paramaditya Dev. Finally, in 1569 AD, Akbar won this fort and gifted it to Birbal.
कालिंजर किला उत्तर प्रदेश के बांदा जिले में स्थित है। इसकी गिनती भारत में बने सबसे बड़े अपराजेय किले में होती है। यह किला बुन्देलखंड क्षेत्र के विंध्य पर्वत में स्थित है। इसने गुप्तों, वर्धन राजवंश, चंदेलों, मुगलों और मराठों सहित कई राजवंशों की सेवा की। हालाँकि इस किले को जीतने के लिए कई शासकों ने भीषण युद्ध लड़े, लेकिन चंदेल लंबे समय तक इस पर कब्ज़ा करने में कामयाब रहे। इसका निर्माण मुख्यतः चंदेल शासक परमादित्य देव ने करवाया था। अंततः 1569 ई. में अकबर ने यह किला जीतकर बीरबल को उपहार में दे दिया।
