Explanation / व्याख्या :-

The Geological Survey of India is the principal agency for geological mapping and regional mineral resources assessment of the country. It is responsible for drawing up action-oriented plans towards these ends in close cooperation with all other agencies engaged in this task. Detailed exploration on land is done by the Mineral Exploration Corporation, Directorates of Mining and Geology of the State Governments and various Central and State Public Sector Organizations. / भारतीय भूवैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण देश के भूवैज्ञानिक मानचित्रण और क्षेत्रीय खनिज संसाधन मूल्यांकन के लिए प्रमुख एजेंसी है। यह इस कार्य में लगी अन्य सभी एजेंसियों के साथ निकट सहयोग में इन उद्देश्यों के लिए कार्य-उन्मुख योजना तैयार करने के लिए जिम्मेदार है। भूमि पर विस्तृत अन्वेषण खनिज अन्वेषण निगम, राज्य सरकारों के खनन एवं भूविज्ञान निदेशालय तथा विभिन्न केन्द्रीय एवं राज्य सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के संगठनों द्वारा किया जाता है।
