The Ashoka Chakra is a depiction of the Buddhist Dharma chakra, represented with 24 spokes. It is so called because it appears on a number of edicts of Ashoka, most prominent among which is the Lion Capital of Sarnath. The 12 out of 24 spokes represent the twelve casual links taught by The Buddha. These 12 in reverse represent a total 24 spokes representing the Life-The Dhamma (Pali). / अशोक चक्र बौद्ध धर्म चक्र का चित्रण है, जिसे 24 तीलियों से दर्शाया गया है। इसे इसलिए कहा जाता है क्योंकि यह अशोक के कई शिलालेखों पर प्रकट होता है, जिनमें से सबसे प्रमुख सारनाथ की सिंह राजधानी है। 24 में से 12 तीलियाँ बुद्ध द्वारा सिखाई गई बारह आकस्मिक कड़ियों का प्रतिनिधित्व करती हैं। ये 12 उलटे कुल 24 तीलियों का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं जो जीवन-द धम्म (पाली) का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं।
