The 73rd amendment of the Constitution was enacted in 1992, to enshrine in the Constitution certain basic and essential features of Panchayat Raj Institutions. It introduced a three tier Panchayati Raj system at the Village, Intermediate (Block) and District levels. / संविधान का 73वां संशोधन 1992 में अधिनियमित किया गया था, ताकि संविधान में पंचायत राज संस्थाओं की कुछ बुनियादी और आवश्यक विशेषताओं को शामिल किया जा सके। इसने ग्राम, मध्यवर्ती (ब्लॉक) और जिला स्तरों पर त्रिस्तरीय पंचायती राज प्रणाली की शुरुआत की।
