Explanation / व्याख्या :-

Public Interest Litigation, or PIL, is defined as the use of litigation, or legal action, which seeks to advance the cause of minority or disadvantaged groups or individuals, or which raises issues of broad public concern. It is litigation introduced in a court of law, not by the aggrieved party but by the court itself or by any other private party. It is not necessary, for the exercise of the court’s jurisdiction, that the person who is the victim of the violation of his or her right should personally approach the court. / जनहित याचिका, या जनहित याचिका, को मुकदमेबाजी, या कानूनी कार्रवाई के उपयोग के रूप में परिभाषित किया गया है, जो अल्पसंख्यक या वंचित समूहों या व्यक्तियों के कारण को आगे बढ़ाने का प्रयास करता है, या जो व्यापक सार्वजनिक चिंता के मुद्दों को उठाता है। यह अदालत में पेश किया गया मुकदमा है, पीड़ित पक्ष द्वारा नहीं, बल्कि अदालत द्वारा या किसी अन्य निजी पक्ष द्वारा। न्यायालय के अधिकार क्षेत्र का प्रयोग करने के लिए यह आवश्यक नहीं है कि जो व्यक्ति अपने अधिकार के उल्लंघन का शिकार है वह व्यक्तिगत रूप से न्यायालय का दरवाजा खटखटाए।
