Lactometer is used to measure the density of milk. It is a small instrument made of glass. Through this, the purity and impurity of milk is determined based on the density of milk. Through this device, whether water has been added to the milk or not, it can be easily detected. A sample of milk is taken to measure the purity of milk. The lactometer is then dipped in milk and a reading is taken on the instrument. Normally the reading of pure milk is 32. The water content in milk is 87 percent.
दूध का घनत्व मापने के लिए लाक्टोमीटर का उपयोग करते हैं। यह शीशे का बना एक छोटा सा यंत्र होता है। इसके जरिए दूध के घनत्व के आधार पर दूध की शुद्धता और अशुद्धता का निर्धारण किया जाता है। इस यंत्र के जरिए दूध में पानी मिलाया गया है या नहीं, इसका पता आसानी से लगाया जा सकता है। दूध की शुद्धता को मापने के लिए दूध का सैंपल लिया जाता है। इसके बाद लैक्टोमीटर को दूध में डुबोया जाता है तथा यंत्र पर रीडिंग ली जाती है। सामान्यतः शुद्ध दूध की रीडिंग 32 होती है। दूध में पानी की मात्रा 87 प्रतिशत होती है।
