As originally enacted, the Constitution of India provided for a Supreme Court with a Chief Justice and 7 judges. As the work of the Court has increased, the present sanctioned strength has swelled to 31. / जैसा कि मूल रूप से अधिनियमित किया गया था, भारत के संविधान ने एक मुख्य न्यायाधीश और 7 न्यायाधीशों के साथ एक सर्वोच्च न्यायालय का प्रावधान किया था। जैसे-जैसे न्यायालय का काम बढ़ता गया, वर्तमान स्वीकृत संख्या बढ़कर 31 हो गई है।
