Habeas corpus means “you must present the person in court”. It is a writ (legal action) which requires a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or into court. This ensures that a prisoner can be released from unlawful detention, in other words, detention lacking sufficient cause or evidence. The remedy can be sought by the prisoner or by another person coming to the prisoner’s aid. The legal right to apply for a habeas corpus is also called by the same name. / बंदी प्रत्यक्षीकरण का अर्थ है “आपको व्यक्ति को अदालत में पेश करना होगा”। यह एक रिट (कानूनी कार्रवाई) है जिसके लिए गिरफ्तारी के तहत किसी व्यक्ति को न्यायाधीश या अदालत के सामने लाने की आवश्यकता होती है। यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि एक कैदी को गैरकानूनी नजरबंदी से रिहा किया जा सकता है, दूसरे शब्दों में, पर्याप्त कारण या सबूत के अभाव में नजरबंदी। कैदी या कैदी की सहायता के लिए आने वाले किसी अन्य व्यक्ति द्वारा उपाय की मांग की जा सकती है। बंदी प्रत्यक्षीकरण के लिए आवेदन करने के कानूनी अधिकार को भी इसी नाम से पुकारा जाता है।
