The preamble of the Indian Constitution mentions that the Constitution derives its authority from the people of India. The words in the preamble- “We, the people of India. adopt, enact and give to ourselves this Constitution” declare the ultimate sovereignty of the people of India and that the constitution rests on their authority. / भारतीय संविधान की प्रस्तावना में उल्लेख है कि संविधान भारत के लोगों से अपना अधिकार प्राप्त करता है। प्रस्तावना में शब्द- “हम, भारत के लोग। इस संविधान को अपनाना, अधिनियमित करना और खुद को देना” भारत के लोगों की अंतिम संप्रभुता की घोषणा करता है और यह कि संविधान उनके अधिकार पर टिका है
