According to Keynes, money is demanded because of three motives -transaction, precau-tionary and speculative. The first two motives provide yield of convenience and certainty. The third motive provides money yield. Keynes has termed demand for money as liquidity preference. / कीन्स के अनुसार, धन की मांग तीन उद्देश्यों के कारण होती है – लेन-देन, एहतियाती और सट्टा। पहले दो उद्देश्य सुविधा और निश्चितता की उपज प्रदान करते हैं। तीसरा मकसद धन प्राप्ति प्रदान करता है। कीन्स ने मुद्रा की माँग को चलनिधि वरीयता कहा है।
