Explanation : –

(1) Production involves transformation of inputs into outputs. The output is a function of input. The functional relationship between physical inputs and physical output of a firm is called production function. The word ‘function’ in mathematics means the precise relationship that exists between one dependent variable and a number (or one) of independent variables. The production function states the maximum quantity of output that can be produced from any given quantities of various inputs during a given period of time. / उत्पादन में आउटपुट में इनपुट का परिवर्तन शामिल है। आउटपुट इनपुट का एक कार्य है। किसी फर्म के भौतिक इनपुट और भौतिक आउटपुट के बीच कार्यात्मक संबंध को उत्पादन कार्य कहा जाता है। गणित में ‘फ़ंक्शन’ शब्द का अर्थ सटीक संबंध है जो एक आश्रित चर और स्वतंत्र चर की संख्या (या एक) के बीच मौजूद है। उत्पादन फ़ंक्शन उत्पादन की अधिकतम मात्रा बताता है जो किसी भी समय की अवधि के दौरान विभिन्न निविष्टियों की किसी भी मात्रा से उत्पादित किया जा सकता है।
