मानव शरीर की सबसे बड़ी ग्रंथि का नाम यकृत है.ग्रन्थि (अंग्रेज़ी: Gland) किसी जीव के उस अंग को कहते हैं जो हार्मोन, दूध आदि का संश्लेषण करती हैं .जीवों के शरीर में विशेषतया दो प्रकार की ग्रन्थि होती हैं.एक एक वे जिनमें स्त्राव बनकर वाहिनी द्वारा बाहर आ जाता है बहिःस्रावी ग्रंथि कहलाती है और दूसरी वे जिनमें बना स्राव बाहर न आकर वहीं से सीधा रक्त में चला जाता है अंतःस्रावी ग्रंथियाँ कहलाती है .शरीर में सबसे अधिक संख्या लसिका ग्रंथियों की है। वे असंख्य हैं यकृत शरीर की सबसे बड़ी ग्रंथि कहलाती है। प्लीहा, अग्न्याशय, अंडग्रंथि, डिंबग्रंथि, इन सबकी ग्रंथियों में ही गणना की जाती है.
