Aryabhatta was the first in the line of great mathematician- astronomers from the classical age of Indian mathematics and Indian astronomy who belonged to the Gupta era. His period was 476–550 A.D. His most famous works are the Aryabhatiya (499 A.D) and the Arya-Siddhanta. / आर्यभट्ट महान गणितज्ञ- भारतीय गणित और भारतीय खगोल विज्ञान के शास्त्रीय युग के खगोलविदों की पंक्ति में पहले थे जो गुप्त युग के थे। उनका काल 476–550  ईसा पश्चात. का था। उनकी सबसे प्रसिद्ध रचनाएँ आर्यभटीय (499 ईसा पश्चात.) और आर्य-सिद्धांत हैं।
