The Vaida (Sinhalese: ) or Vaidda are an aboriginal tribe of Sri Lanka. Historians believe that they were the first human inhabitants of Sri Lanka. Traditionally, Vaida lived within the jungles of Sri Lanka. They had their own separate Vaida language, whose original roots are unknown and which is now extinct. The Vaidas are also called Vannial Aitto in Sinhalese, which means 'people of the forest'. / वैदा (सिंहली:) या वैद्दा श्रीलंका की एक आदिवासी जनजाति है। इतिहासकारों का मानना है कि वे श्रीलंका के सबसे पहले मानव निवासी थे। पारम्परिक तौर से वैदा श्रीलंका के जंगलों के भीतर रहा करते थे। उनकी अपनी अलग वैदा भाषा थी, जिसकी मूल जड़ें अज्ञात हैं और जो अब विलुप्त हो चुकी है। सिंहली भाषा में वैदाओं को वन्नियल ऐत्तो भी कहते हैं, जिसका मतलब 'वन के लोग' है।
